‘Scary Movie’ To Get A Reboot!?

Comedic horror is a genre often less trodden by filmmakers. However, the film that basically set the grounds for the saga of comedy-horror is undoubtedly the Scary Movie franchise.

Following the lives of five friends who’re now being stalked by a grossly incompetent serial killer after they collectively murdered a man, the first ‘Scary Movie’ premiered in 2000. Not only did five installments follow the original feature, it also inspired classics like ‘Scream’ and ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’.

To the utter joy of fans of the paradoxical genre, a ‘Scary Movie’ reboot is officially in the works under Paramount and Miramax Studios. Paramount Pictures announced that it will be partnering with “Fast and Furious” mega-producer Neal H. Moritz to revive the franchise as it goes under production this year and eventually hit theatres in 2025.

The film is also being made in collaboration with Miramax, the original studio behind the franchise. While there are no solid details like the ensemble cast, returning cast member, release date, and more out yet, it is definite that fans will keep an eye out for updates regarding the same.

As for Paramount’s upcoming projects, the studio has anticipated titles like ‘If’, ‘Gladiator 2’, ‘Smile 2’, and more on the way!
