Scoob! Follows Suit Of Skipping Theatrical Release But With A Difference

Following the footsteps of other summer releases like Onwards, Trolls World Tour and The Lovebirds, the eagerly awaited animation flick Scoob!, will skip the theatrical release. The movie will be available digitally for rental or buying.

Scoob!, is a Warner Bros production. Many, therefore, assumed that it would be available on their soon to launch streaming platform HBO Max. Some of the films mentioned above are similarly available in OTT apps linked to the parent production company or else they are sold to a streamer.

However, Scoob!, will not be available on HBO Max. The movie will hit digital rental space on May 15th, as its release date. But, it won’t be streaming on HBO Max which will be launched from May 27th.

It has more to do with the thinking of the production company. The Warner media believes in maintaining the tradition of theatre alive. They intend to keep the gap between the movies theatrical release and streaming debut. They will not happen at the same time. It also gives an idea of the approach of HBO Max when it comes to tentpole projects.

Scoob!, is an animated feature based on the famous Scooby Do cartoons. In the last couple of decades, a few movies have been made on the character similar to the show. Scoob!, was carrying good buzz before the coronavirus pandemic shut down the cinemas.
