Comedy can be hit or miss in the market, but Sony’s R-rated comedy “Anyone But You” has managed to win over the minds and hearts of fans. However, there are always hidden gems, and this time, it’s “Scrambled,” which OTT platforms will be serving hot.
Don’t worry, it’s not another ‘Chef’ show.
The show focuses on Nellie Robinson, a bubbly and outgoing woman in her late 30s who finds herself perpetually stuck in the role of the “eternal bridesmaid.” Surrounded by friends who are settling down and starting families, Nellie feels a growing pressure to figure out her own future.
After discovering that her biological clock might be ticking faster than she thought, she makes the bold decision to freeze her eggs. This sets her off on a hilarious and introspective journey of self-discovery as she navigates the world of fertility clinics, explores potential romantic partners, and ultimately learns to define happiness on her own terms. Quite a rollercoaster journey!
Leah McKendrick plays the lead role, quite literally as she is not only the face of the film but also managed to write and direct it. Yvonne Strahovski also nails it as Sara, along with Clancy Brown, Laura Cerón, and Ego Nwodim.
Critically, the film was appreciated for its witty writing and sensitive storyline, managing to tick all the boxes.
Though it was earlier screened at multiple film festivals, “Scrambled” got a late release on February 2nd, and a film like this doesn’t really dream of being a box-office sensation.
“Scrambled” will be arriving on March 1st in a digital and VOD format, making it quite an interesting watch if you want to try something new for a change.
