The standalone sequel to the 2018 computer screen thriller movie ‘Searching’ titled ‘Missing’ was released in theatres a few months back. ‘Missing’ is based on the same computer screen aka screen-life thriller format like the 2018 film ‘Searching’ in which John Cho starred as a father who tries to track his missing daughter through just a computer.

The underlying story of ‘Missing’ follows the story of an LA-based young woman named June, whose mother goes missing after the latter goes on a leisure trip to Columbia with her boyfriend. Now, the helpless June desperately tries to find the whereabouts of her missing mother with the help of technology and social media platforms. But the deeper she investigates, the more she learns about her mother’s dark secrets and mysterious past.

Following its theatrical release, ‘Missing’ garnered positive feedback from critics and was widely admired by the audiences. The movie currently holds an impressive critics’ score of 88% and is ‘Certified Fresh’ on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score is even higher at 90%. Moreover, on IMDb, ‘Missing’ has received a pretty decent user rating of 7.2/10.
