Dwayne Johnson posted a few exclusive images of the sophomore season of Young Rock. The upcoming season of the show is set to premiere on March 15th, 2022 in the US. However, fans in India are still deprived of the first season of the show.
Young Rock is an American television sitcom based upon the life of professional wrestler and actor Dwayne Johnson, also known by his ring name “The Rock”. The series premiered in the United States on February 16th, 2021. It was renewed for a second season in April 2021 with a release date for it announced by Dwayne Johnson in November 2021. A holiday special episode aired on December 15th, 2021.
However, it has been a big surprise to Indian fans that the show is not yet available for them. Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock has a huge fan following in India right from his days in WWE. Even various Bollywood actors, especially Varun Dhawan, have commented on their appreciation for Dwayne Johnson. Even Netflix, as part of promotions for its movie Red Notice – which starred Dwayne Johnson (alongside Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds) targeted Indian fans by releasing a video on Instagram. In this video, the actors including Johnson reacted to comments from Indian fans. Dwayne Johnson greeted the fans by saying, “Namaste India” and revealed his favourite Indian food (which is BTW, Tandoori Chicken).
It clearly shows the popularity of the actor in the country. With such a huge fan-base, the producers of Young Rock are clearly missing out on an opportunity.
The first season of the show premiered on NBC in the US with it now being available on NBC’s streaming division Peacock and Hulu for streaming in various countries around the world. The second season will premiere on NBC and will also be available on Peacock TV in regions where the streaming service is available.
There is no update or announcement regarding its availability in India. So, till then, fans can check out the exclusive images of the show revealed by Dwayne Johnson on his Instagram feed. The show’s second season is expected to feature The Rock’s WWE rookie year.
