Sebastian Stan will portray the young version of Donald Trump in ‘The Apprentice’, a film by director Ali Abbasi.
The film will revolve around a young Trump and his journey of building his real estate empire in New York City during the 1970s and 80s. It is also expected to touch on themes like deception, corruption, and power. Apart from Stan, the film’s cast has talents like Maria Bakalova and Jeremy Strong. Bakalova will play Ivana Trump in the film. The principal photography commenced this week.
Gabriel Sherman has written the script for Abbasi’s upcoming feature directional project.
Sebastian Stan is best known for playing Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier in several MCU projects. He has also worked in other films, such as I, Tonya, The Devil All The Time, Dumb Money, and more. He played Tommy Lee in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy miniseries.
Maria Bakalova is prominent for her work in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Bodies Bodies Bodies, The Bubble, and more. She also voiced Cosmo the Spacedog in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
The Apprentice will be produced by Jacob Jarek (Profile Pictures), Daniel Bekerman (Scythia Films), and Ruth Treacy (Taylored Films). In addition to this script writing duties, Sherman will consecutively produce the project along with Amy Baer and Grant Johnson. Stay tuned for more updates.
