Avid fans of Indian cinema are no strangers to Vijay Sethupathi, the National Award winning Indian actor and film producer who predominantly works in Tamil films, and yet has a career slate that spans genres and languages. Most recently, he was seen in Nithilan Swaminathan’s blockbuster ‘Maharaja’, a gritty and heartwarming thriller.
Next up for him seems to be a Disney+ Hotstar web series titled ‘Muthu Enkira Kattaan’. He will be seen alongside Manikandan K., yet another big name from the Tamil film industry. This comes following the commercial success of the latter’s ‘Lover’, released earlier this year. ‘Lover’ traverses the problems of toxicity in modern relationships.
This announcement comes as a surprise for fans of the stars as the duo will be seen sharing the screen for their first collaboration ever. Although an official announcement has not yet been made either by the streaming platform or the actors, the show is anticipated to be a rural action drama.
Sethupathi had previously announced his first Tamil web series for director M Manikandan who is renowned for having helmed acclaimed films like ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ as well as ‘Kaaka Muttai’. However, whether or not ‘Muthu Enkira Kattaan’ is the same project, is yet to be clarified.
Either way, whether ‘Muthu Enkira Kattaan’ reunites Sethupathi and Manikandan, or unites a much-awaited brand-new pairing of Sethupathi and Manikandan, fans are in for a treat!
