Sethupathi, Katrina’s ‘Merry Christmas’ Locks New Release Date!

Sriram Raghavan’s next ‘Merry Christmas’ has locked a new release date. It will now be released on the 15th of December. It has Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the leading roles. Merry Christmas is shot simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil. Both versions will have different sets of supporting actors.

Previously, the movie was slated for its theatrical release on the 23rd of December. But it would have clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ which releases on 22. Shah Rukh Khan is in all hype for his interesting lineup of big budget films. This, most probably, is the reason behind preponing the date to December 15.

Sriram Raghavan is known for his dark and thrilling style of filmmaking. He has helmed some really great movies like ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Andhadhun’. Fans have been waiting to watch Vijay Sethupathi in a Hindi movie for a long time. He will also be seen as the main villain in SRK’s Jawaan.

Katrina Kaif will work with Sriram Raghavan and Sethupathi for the first time and it will be exciting to see what these three will do together. Some great posters of the film have been released. One has a retro look and there is a taxi in it, there is the cityscape, a truck quote: Rat jitni sangeen hogi, subah utni rangeen hogi.’ Most probably Merry Christmas will be the story of one night. Vijay Sethupathi may play a taxi driver and Katrina Kaif a lone passenger on Christmas night and they have an adventurous night.
