The teaser for the much awaited and highly anticipated Netflix series “Shadow and Bone” is dropped and the 2 minutes 41 seconds long teaser shows nothing but how great the series will be. The series will be released on the 23rd of April and is based on the bestselling novels of the same name. The teaser shows the mystical “Shadow Fold”, a black and dark wall which seems to be alluring and yet the scariest. The army is ready to fight whatever the “Fold” holds. But it is not going to be that simple.
Dividing the country into two armies, one that uses magic and one that doesn’t, the Fold is a wall of black clouds that seems to be housing all sorts of demons and monsters one can imagine. As brave soldiers get ready to fight it, they first must enter it. But are they equipped enough to fight what awaits them? Is the army ready to protect the land and its people? Well, no. It will take not one but both of these armies to break whatever is keeping this evil and unnatural “Fold” together.
The teaser gives the fans a glimpse of Alina, our leading lady might just be a mapmaker and a soldier to everyone and herself, but she has something more than that. She needs to train whatever is within her as she might be the key to saving whatever is left of their country. Along with her, the fans get to see the characters played by Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Kit Young, Amita Suman and Ben Barnes. With magic flowing all around the teaser trailer and mythical characters running from one end to another, this Netflix show already screams “epic”.
“To destroy it, we need a miracle” is the motto they will be going by it seems as the Fold becomes the wall for the show, just like how the icy wall became the one in Game of Thrones. One might even get the same vibe, but this will have its own touch. Adapted from the bestselling novels, as mentioned before the author Leigh Bardugo also serves as one of the executive producers for the show and is being created by Eric Heisserer.
The teaser was small but it definitely gives us an idea how Netflix has gone all out for this latest fantasy series. This only seems to be the beginning. With the season coming in pretty soon, it can only mean that it will get bigger and better.
