Shah Rukh Khan To Be Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award At Locarno Film Festival

It is a great honour for Shah Rukh Khan and Indian film industry as Lacarno Film Festival 2024 is set to honour the Indian superstar with Lifetime Achievement Award called the Pardo alla Carriera, or career leopard, this year at Locarno’s iconic Piazza Grande.

The festival will also screen Khan’s 2002 superhit film ‘Devdas’ as a tribute to him. Locarno Film Festival’s director Giona A. Nazzaro said that its a like dream come true to welcome a living legend like Shah Rukh Khan to the 77th edition of the festival. He also praised the Indian film star for the wealth and breadth of his contribution to Indian cinema.

He further added, “Khan is a king who has never lost touch with the audience that crowned him. This brave and daring artist has always been willing to challenge himself while remaining true to what his fans all over the world eagerly expect from his films. A true ‘people’s hero,’ sophisticated and down to earth, Shah Rukh Khan is a legend of our times.”

Shah Rukh Khan made a solid comeback last year with two out three films becoming a blockbuster. In 2023, Shah Rukh features in Atlee’s action thriller ‘Jawan’, which was a blockbuster hit. This was followed by Yash Raj Films’ ‘Pathaan’ which once again proved to be a massive success. Then by the end of the year there was Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ which also performed well at the box office but not as good as the other two.
