After the unequivocal success of its flagship stand-up comedy show Comicstaan, Amazon Prime Video has another novel concept in the genre of stand-up comedy on the anvil. The new show is called One Mic Stand, and it will have five celebs being mentored in the art of performing comedy, by five established names in the world of stand-up comedy.
And the series will feature—hold your breath—Shashi Tharoor, trying his hand at stand-up comedy!
As per media reports, the other celebs that will be giving Shashi Tharoor company are actresses Richa Chadha and Tapsee Pannu, Bollywood music composer Vishal Dadlani and popular YouTuber Bhuvan Bam. Their mentors will be comics Sapan Varma, Ashish Shakya, Kunal Kamra, Rohan Joshi and Angad Singh Ranyal.
The celebs will be mentored by their respective stand-up comic for a week, after which they will perform before a live audience. Amazon Prime Video tweeted the news on its official Twitter account this afternoon. Check out the tweet here –
