‘Shazam 2’ Director Confirms Filming Wrap. Shares Intriguing Set Photo

Just a few days back, ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ director David F. Sandberg took to Twitter to clarify that some actors have already wrapped up their parts while the filming was still underway and close to being done. And now, just a couple of hours ago, the filmmaker has confirmed that the production for ‘Shazam!’ sequel has finally been concluded.

Sandberg did that by sharing on Twitter an image of the movie’s clapboard, thereby signifying the end of production for the film. He concurrently shared a more intriguing set photo of a wrecked room that is apparently the works of superpowered beings. It must be a part of an explosive action sequence from the movie.

After several pandemic-induced delays, the sequel’s production eventually commenced at the end of the month of May. And now that its principal photography has been completed, the makers would commence post-production works like special effects, etc. which are mostly immune to the pandemic.

A few months back, director Sandberg had revealed first look photos of the new superhero suits to be donned by Shazam (Zachary Levi) and his fellow superheroes essayed by Adam Brody, Meagan Good, Ross Butler, Michelle Borth, and D.J. Cotrona. The Shazam sequel will also feature Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler as daughters of Atlas, who are also said to be the film’s antagonists.

The original 2019 film ‘Shazam!’ followed a teenage boy named Billy Batson who gains incredible superpowers after he is chosen by the titular wizard Shazam as his new champion. The boy transforms into an adult superhero by saying the magical word ‘Shazam’.

DC fans will also be able to see an exclusive behind-the-scenes look of ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ in the eagerly anticipated DC Fandome 2021 event to be held on 16th October 2021. While the film is eyeing for a theatrical release on 2nd June 2023.
