Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan is a massive failure. Unfortunately, it is not restricted to the theaters but also the OTT release. The movie failed to garner any appreciation and is a lesson that folks in Bollywood must learn.
Firstly, it was a poorly made film. There was too much artificial stuff that didn’t allow us to like the film. Secondly, what works in the Telugu film industry need not work in the Hindi film industry always.
Bollywood is too obsessed with easy remakes. The kind of original scripts that usually come out from Bollywood is too mediocre to impress audiences who have the access to watch great films from any industry.
So the frequency and choice of scripts must be taken care of while remaking any film. Just because Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo worked in the Telugu film industry doesn’t mean its Hindi remake will also do good.
Shehzada is getting trolled badly after the Netflix release. The movie bombed at the box office and so is happening after the OTT release.
We have seen OTT emerging as the ultimate test for a film. Even movies like Kantara, Varisu, and more fail to impress the fans. One reason can be the wide audience variety OTT offers.
Anyways, Shehzada couldn’t be any more successful on OTT than it was in the theater.
