The teaser for Millie Bobby Brown’s latest movie “Enola Holmes” has dropped and it is quite cheeky. Netflix released the teaser first through its twitter handle with a nonsensical title ‘alone loshme reeebtpms wnettyrhitd’. This however turned out to be an anagram which translates to ‘Enola Holmes September Twenty-third’ and we all know what that means.
The teaser shows a variety of people uttering the same word in various states of exasperation, annoyance and/or irritation. The word being Enola. We see very slight glimpses of “The Stranger Things” actress, who plays Enola Holmes, in the teaser until she lifts her veil to reveal her face at the very end with a shameless “ ‘Tis I”.
Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin play the titular character’s older brothers Sherlock Holmes and Mycroft Holmes respectively, while Helena Bonham Carter portrays their mother, Eudoria Holmes. The screenplay is written by Jack Thorne and the movie is directed by Harry Bradbeer.
Based on the series of books by Nancy Springer, the movie follows a young teenage genius Enola Holmes, sister of the world’s most famous detective Sherlock Holmes, who sets out to find her mother when she goes missing. Defying her older brother Mycroft Holmes, she leaves the finishing school she was put in and disguises herself as a boy. She goes to London, hoping to find clues that will determine the reason for her mother’s disappearance. The story takes a darker, more complicated turn when she runs into a runaway young lord (pun intended) and a human rights plot in the process.
Enola Holmes will release on Netflix on Wednesday, 23rd September 2020.
