While ‘Shershaah’ surely lacked depth in its storyline and Siddharth Malhotra just stuck to the script without adding much to a strong character, the movie has still managed to gain such credible viewing stats. This could be because of reasons like timing of the release around Independence Day that not only struck the patriotic chord well with the audience but also gave them something to catch up with family during a holiday.
Other reasons might include brilliant marketing strategy adopted by the makers and the platform, beautiful melodious songs and moreover the brand name of Dharma Productions that’s known for its film’s grandness.
Apart from all this and most significantly, biographical dramas have been a hit many a times among the Indian audience especially when it comes to one of our armed forces and soldier heroes. The emotional connect, the feeling of empathy along with great pride have been the most attractive features of such films.
More often than not people subconsciously watch such movies to know more about the great personality and his personal life rather than for the film’s storyline, acting skills or anything else for that matter. Though if the latter portion of the film is good it’s just an added bonus for the audience.
So what do you think, do these incredible Shershaah stats present a true story or are just an illusionary numbers game?
