Anupam Kher is shooting with Neena Gupta in the US for his 519th film (That’s right!) titled ‘Shiv Shastri Balboa’. This light-hearted comedy drama is directed by Ajayan Venugopalan under the banner UFI Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd. Venugopalan is a screenwriter and film director who has previously helmed the acclaimed Malayalam television sitcom ‘Akkara Kazhchakal’. This popular TV series was also followed by a movie of the same name.
Today, Neena Gupta shared a lovely picture with Anupam Kher from the sets of the film that is indeed piquing the interest of fans. The picture shows a scene where both actors are dressed in character and chatting away on a sidewalk. Anupam Kher is seen with a cute dog and Neena Gupta looks wonderful in a simple sari. Taking to Instagram, Neena Gupta also introduced her character in a post yesterday and wrote, “This is Elsa in #shivshastribalboa”.
Anupam Kher too, post revealing the first look of the film, has been sharing stills from the sets showcasing his character. Currently in New Jersey, he revealed that the movie will be “a fascinating tale of survival of an Indian in a small town in America.” In the caption, Kher wrote, “Delighted to be working with the gorgeous and brilliant @neena_gupta and a very interesting and talented international cast and crew!! More details and surprises to follow!! Jai Ho!!”. The film also includes TV Actress Hritu Deepak (of Kkusum fame), amongst others, who has also been sharing updates via Instagram.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Anupam Kher has several other projects in the pipeline including The Last Show, Mungilal Rocks and The Kashmir Files. As for Neena Gupta, she is all geared up for the next release ‘Dial 100’ with Manoj Bajpayee and Sakshi Tanwar. The Rensil D’Silva directorial is all set for a 6th August release on Zee5.
