Shōgun Opens With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

The Japanese Game of Thrones, that’s how the fans are labeling it, and the trailer made some strong promises. About the show, it is delivering. The first previews looked really promising, showing some strong points which can take it to another level. Talking about perfection, Shōgun’s ratings are astronomical.

The show opens with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%. The IMDb ratings are yet to arrive, but it will likely carry the trend from RT, that’s an expectation.

The show will be released on Hulu and FX. For Indian audiences, Disney+ Hotstar will be the destination. If you forgot to mark the date, it’s February 28th, 2024.

Now, there are several aspects of the show which make it so special. Firstly, the storyline of the show is indeed fascinating and doesn’t leave any loose ends. The cinematography is also extremely commendable.

Set in 17th-century Japan, John Blackthorne, a brash English pilot, crashes onto the shores, his Western arrogance clashing with the rigid samurai culture. Thrust into a power struggle between Toranaga, a forward-thinking warlord seeking unification, and Ishido, a traditionalist clinging to the past, Blackthorne must adapt to survive. He learns the art of war, masters the language, and navigates the treacherous political landscape.

The show makers also managed to utilize a vast cast, and that too for the benefit of the show. They don’t shy away from using their native language. The BGM also excels, managing to hit the perfect notes.

How long will Shōgun be able to keep this perfect score? Time will tell as February 28th is just around the corner.
