Being restricted in home has not stopped the creativity juices from flowing in the Indian entertainment industry. This lockdown is proving that producing good content is more a matter of willingness than big budgets. From shooting on their phones, to doing their own makeup, setting the lights and more, these actors and filmmakers did it all on their own.

Voot‘s multi-starrer crime-thriller series ‘Gone Game’, Fahadh Faasil’s ‘C U Soon’ on Amazon Prime Video, Rohit Bose Roy’s romantic mini series ‘Locked In Love’ on Hungama Play – have all been shot entirely on phone within a restricted environment and limited resources. The direction was either done by self or provided remotely through video calls.

‘Gone Game‘ has been receiving rave reviews all over the internet not only for the amazing performances but also for the ingeniously brilliant way in which it has been put together by the technical team. Even the trailer of Malayalam film ‘C U Soon’, that is to release on 1st September, 2020 on Amazon Prime Video, will leave you awestruck with its splendor.

All this shows that talent knows no bounds and that people are well capable of acknowledging and adapting to the change accordingly. If not for the lockdown, no one would otherwise have had the thought of shooting an entire film or web series on something as regular a device as phone.

Moreover, it was only possible to produce such content because there was availability of OTT platforms that are more open to offbeat variety of content. This way of producing content is a source of encouragement and inspiration for budding filmmakers who often have ideas but not the resources to accomplish them.
