The OTT giant reportedly paid a fancy price for the OTT rights for the film and the Nani starrer will be made available for streaming on the platform weeks after its theatrical release. If Netflix had struck a standard 4-week OTT agreement with the makers of Shyam Singha Roy, the film might be made available for streaming on the platform from the 21st of January. If it is a 6-week agreement, the film might premiere on Netflix on 4th February. These are just the tentative release dates and are subject to change.
Shyam Singha Roy is one of Netflix’s big-money acquisitions in Telugu cinema and the OTT giant had even offered a lucrative deal for the direct to digital rights of the Nani starrer. But the makers politely turned down the offer as they were always inclined towards the theatrical release prospect.
