After getting appreciation for his performance in the Netflix spy thriller movie ‘Mission Majnu’, the good-looking actor Sidharth Malhotra is now gearing up for his next film ‘Yodha’. Earlier, the movie was supposed to be released on 8th December 2023. But as per the latest update, ‘Yodha’ has been postponed and will now land in cinemas next year on 15th March 2024.
In the film, Sidharth Malhotra will be essaying the role of a highly skilled soldier who takes up a daredevil mission of rescuing the passengers of a plane hijacked by terrorists. And not just that, the hero must also race against time and chalk out a quick plan to deal with the damaged plane engine.
‘Yodha’ has been directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre in their feature film directorial debut. Besides Sidharth Malhotra in the titular role, the film also features Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles.
This is not the first time that a film has been made on the subject of plane hijacking. In Hollywood, there are numerous films, of course. But even some Indian filmmakers have tried their hands in the plane hijacking action thriller sub-genre. Previously, Indian movies such as the Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Neerja’, ‘Bell Bottom’ starring Akshay Kumar, Nagarjuna’s ‘Payanam’, and more recently ‘IB 71’ and ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’, etc. have been made.
Now, it would be interesting to see whether Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Yodha’ will be able to impress the Indian movie buffs in a big way or not.
