Sigourney Weaver In Talks To Join ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Movie

Sigourney Weaver is in talks to return to space for an important role in Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu. The sci-fi legend is best known for slaughtering Xenomorphs in space in the ‘Alien’ movie franchise. Now, we may see her sharing screen with bounty hunters, stormtroopers, and Imperial Guards.

Apart from helming the film, Favreau will also co-produce it alongside Dave Filoni (Chief Creative Officer) Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm President). The filming is scheduled to commence later this year. It is expected to come out on May 22, 2026.

The movie was announced on January 9 this year, along with the announcement of Ahsoka Season 2.

Weaver is best known for her work on prominent movie franchises like Alien and Avatar. Plus, she has starred in plenty of movies, such as Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), Galaxy Quest (1999), The Village (2004), WALL-E (2008), The Cabin in the Woods (2012), Chappie (2015), A Monster Calls (2016), and more.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is the first Star Wars feature to go into production after Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019). Plot details about the movie are scarce now. We don’t know about Sigourney Weaver’s character in the film. Stay tuned for more updates.
