Simu Liu Gives An Exciting Update About Marvel’s Shang-Chi 2

For those of you who were wondering whether Shang-Chi 2 was a part of MCU’s Phase Six, the sequel will be an integral part of the final phase of The Multiverse Saga. And yes, Shang-Chi 2 is happening. Simu Liu announced the project on his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Simu Liu talked in detail about the upcoming Shang-Chi sequel on the show. This is what he said:

“You want me to lose my job, is that it? This is where I use all the mental gymnastics that I possibly can to answer this question, I will say this. It’s definitely happening, I should probably lead with that. People, whether it’s online or in person, ask me every single day and tell me every single day how much they enjoyed the first movie and how much of a moment it was. And I think there’s just so much goodwill, and I’m so deeply appreciative of that.”

At this point, no one knows when Shang-Chi 2 will arrive in theatres. Our best guess is 2026. Plus, we do not know about the upcoming sequel’s storyline. Marvel Studios can give us a Shang-Chi sequel that may have a little connection with the 2021 entry. The sequel could connect more with the forthcoming Avengers movies: Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars. The additional exploration of the history of Shang-Chi’s hidden world is on the cards as well. The first movie scratched only the surface of the protagonist’s powers. In addition, the true origins of the Ten Rings are yet unknown.

Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi 2 could emerge as the ultimate underdog amidst the highly anticipated MCU releases, such as Spider-Man 4, The Fantastic Four, Blade, Thunderbolts, Captain America: Brave New World, and both of the forthcoming Avengers movies. Stay tuned for more updates.
