It was a huge weekend as two of the Diwali giants met once again without any mainstream Bollywood release in the past week. Kartik Aaryan’s horror comedy ride came into the second weekend with huge expectations after outperforming Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again as the first week came to an end.
As the weekend came to a close, it was a beneficial one for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which came as a clear winner above Singham Again. Looking at the advance booking sales for BB3 for Sunday was alone above 200k tickets outperforming Singham’s 150k tickets.
Looking at the collections, BB3 successfully crossed 200 crores outperforming BB2 collections. On the other hand, it was a mediocre weekend for Singham Again raking its total to 206 crores.
Comparing the weekend numbers, BB3 came out as a clear winner gaining more collections each day. Another huge film also got benefits coming out of the blue which was Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran.
However, the promising start BB3 and Singham Again had despite being heavily criticized is surprising. With a firm hold over the last weekend, both films have crossed 200 crores mark making them one of the biggest hits of 2024.
Judging by the looks of it, it seems that the splendid run of the Diwali releases will be coming to an end as Kanguva aims to take over this weekend.
