The much awaited tamil language comedy drama movie ‘Don‘ starring Sivakarthikeyan in lead role is now steaming on Netflix India. The film featured SJ Suryah, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Samuthirakani and Soori in pivotal roles. ‘Don’ theatrically released on 13th May and was a blockbuster at the box office. The film is also Sivakarthikeyan’s second consecutive blockbuster after Nelson directorial ‘Doctor’ (also streaming on Netflix India).
The film’s plot revolves around a reluctant engineering student played by Sivakarthikeyan and his repeated clashes with his college’s discipline mentor played by SJ Suryah. Don is also a coming-of-age comedy drama in a way. The film was not only commercially successful, but also critically appreciated especially for Sivakarthikeyan and SJ Suryah’s performances.
In his directorial debut, Cibil Chakaravarthi also penned the screenplay of the film, bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Sivakarthikeyan also co-produced the film under his own banner. The film features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography and editing handled by KM Bhaskaran and Nagooran respectively. Doctor was a huge hit on Netflix when it released, let’s hope for Don to also get the same reception from Netflix India audience.
