Looks like Shah Rukh Khan successfully fooled everyone with an idea of a new OTT app yesterday. We say so because of Ajay Devgn’s latest video where Shah Rukh is seen discussing ideas for a new OTT project on his own app with renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. But looks like it’s not what it seems.
Let’s jiggle your memories a bit and take you back to September last year when Shah Rukh Khan was seen doing a series of videos for Disney+ Hotstar using #SiwaySRK. It was all about how Shah Rukh had no OTT project while many other big Bollywood stars were already launching something or the other on such streaming services.
While last time it was Karan Johar and Salman Khan dropping such videos, it’s Ajay Devgn this time who jokes about launching Rudra on Shah Rukh’s app if only he had told him about it. But since it’s already out he ask him to halt a bit and hence #ThodaRukShahRukh.
To this Shah Rukh replies and asks Ajay to confirm the launch of Rudra season 2 on SRK+. Salman Khan too joined in and said never to underestimate two things – Shah Rukh Khan and his sense of humour. He also said that whether SRK+ happens or not, it was all good fun.
Even Disney+ Hotstar shared Ajay Devgn’s tweet and appreciated Shah Rukh’s idea.
Going by all this, an OTT app is definitely out of question. But still as Salman said you can never underestimate Shah Rukh, SRK+ could probably be an add on subscription on Disney+ Hotstar, if it’s not just another ad campaign for the platform. Another far fetched prediction is that this could be something related to his own OTT debut but given the content of these videos it doesn’t look like it.
