On the occasion of India’s Republic Day today, six National Award winning directors have come together to create a new series, titled ‘One Nation’. The tagline of the just announced series reads – “The untold tales of India’s unsung heroes who dedicated their lives for 100 years to keep India as One Nation”.
The six directors who have come together to create the unique series are Priyadarshan, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, John Mathew Mathan, Manju Borah and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The series will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, who’s earlier produced films like ’83 The Film’ and ‘Thalaivii’. Hitesh Thakkar is the co-producer of the ‘One Nation’ series. He’s earlier produced films such as ‘Toilet: A Love Story’, ‘Rustom’ and ‘Pad Man’.
Director Priyadarshan needs no introduction. Film enthusiasts know him as the creator of beloved films such as Hera Pheri and Kaalapani. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is well-known as the director of last year’s hit ‘The Kashmir Files’. Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan is best known for his internationally acclaimed film ‘Lahore’, and the 2021 film ‘Bahattar Hoorain’.
Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi is well-known for his epic TV series ‘Chanakya’, and the heart-rending film ‘Pinjar’. Manju Borah is an award winning Assamese writer and director. Film lovers will know John Mathew Mathan as the director of the terrific Aamir Khan starrer ‘Sarfarosh’.
