Snyder And Rotten Tomatoes, Still A Questionable Pairing?

One more setback for Zack Snyder?

At least, that’s what the Rotten Tomatoes website suggests, and not just for the first time. Snyder and Rotten Tomatoes don’t seem to have a happy marriage, as the clash is very prominent. And, as history suggests, the journey hasn’t been a smooth one.

His latest venture, Rebel Moon, has been one of the most anticipated ones, but the ratings suggest otherwise. As per the IMDb rating, it stands at a formidable 6.9, which obviously doesn’t reflect the hype. However, the Rotten Tomatoes rating suggests otherwise.

As of now, it stands at an abominable 25%, which is nothing but a disaster for the director. Though the audience score is 76%, the critics are definitely turning their faces away. Now, it’s not that critic reviews are the most important pillars of a movie’s success; it is barely linked to that.

Batman VS Superman was definitely a hit for the DC universe, grossed $873.6M despite the bad critic reviews on Tomatometer, a shocking 29% by the critics. But this event of fewer critic reviews is definitely an event that is occurring again and again and is turning into a matter of concern now.

The highest ratings he got on Tomatometer is 93% and 90% with films like Wonder Woman and The Suicide Squad, but none of them were directed by him. The highest rating he got as a director was Dawn Of The Dead, back in 2004.

Then, with 70%, comes the Snyder Cut, which is probably the most anticipated Director’s Cut ever, but the rating seems a bit off, keeping the quality in mind.

And if you scroll to the very bottom, hold a chair as there are some disasters waiting there. Sucker Punch, a visual extravagance, is sitting there with just 22%, but is accompanied by his latest venture, Rebel Moon Part 1 with 24%. Even films like 300 and Man Of Steel performed underwhelmingly on the platforms.

The critics have all the right to dislike the films, but if the occurrence is this frequent, you are left with two questions. Either his films aren’t opt for critics’ taste or you have to question his filmmaking ability.

Though the fans will obviously inflate the reviews, that is definitely a fact; any strong fan base comes with a similar effect. But you need to wait until the 21st to actually know how good or bad the film really is.
