Snyderverse Is Coming On Netflix But With Rebel Moon

Once he was the ‘angel’ of DC, but became the fallen one, and is now finding his throne at the red and black brand. Snyder is now the darling of Netflix, and with his new exciting project regarding Rebel Moon, he is back and making a strong statement.

Fans have always wanted the Snyderverse, and even once Twitter (now X) was flooded with tweets that simply demanded Netflix to buy Snyder’s DC venture.

But obviously, WB is not as generous as any Robin Hood, erasing the complete slate. So, in a rare alignment of stars, Netflix is gifting fans with the Snyderverse, but without the essence of DC.

Snyder just announced that his newest creation, Rebel Moon, will be in the same universe as his Zombie film, Army of the Dead.

In 2021, Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead” series began with the movie, featuring Dave Bautista and Ella Purnell in a zombie-infested Las Vegas. A sequel, “Army of Thieves,” followed. The animated series, “Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas,” planned for immediate release, remains unfinished.

And it is the unfinished series which holds the crossover, confirmed by Snyder. “At one point in the show, they go through a portal into another dimension, and there are characters in that other dimension that they come across,” Snyder says, “In Rebel Moon, they’re in this bar, and one of the aliens is one of the characters from the animatic. So it’s definitely a shared universe.”

“Rebel Moon,” featuring Charlie Hunnam and Sofia Boutella, unfolds in a distant galaxy. It centers on an enigmatic young woman rallying an army against oppressive forces endangering her community.

In terms of the release, the first part will be streaming on Netflix on December 22nd, 2023, and the follow-up volume will hit the platform on April 19th, 2024.

Snyder also shared one more update regarding Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. Snyder confirms that the team is already done with the script and animation along with voice recording.
