Sol Kyung Gu’s Yaksha : Ruthless Operations Coming to Netflix

Sol Kyung Gu’s much awaited spy action thriller “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations” to now have a Netflix release. Also starring Squid Game’s Park Hae-soo and Yang Dong-geun, the film will drop worldwide on the streaming platform on April 8th, 2022. The OTT giant released its first official trailer also recently.

The premise of the movie is set in Shenyang, China. The story follows the leader of an espionage agency’s secret operation Black Team and a prosecutor who was demoted to the agency at loggerheads. Sol Kyung Gu plays Kang In, the head of the Shenyang branch of the National Intelligence Service. Park Hae Soo plays Han Ji-hoon, a prosecutor from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office who gets demoted.

The trailer shows the distrust of the special team on Han Ji-hoon who believes incorrect information runs rampant around the team. He locks horns with Yaksha, the team lead thereby leading to the team not receiving him and his concerns well. Han Ji-hoon lands in trouble multiple times with no one by his side. If anything to go by, Yaksha: Ruthless Operations looks like a taut spy-action-thriller fronted by two of Korean Entertainment’s favourite actors.

Directed by Na Hyeon, Yaksha is produced by Sangsang Film Co., Ltd and distributed by Showbox and Netflix worldwide. The filming wrapped in the first half of 2020. The film took to the streaming route due to delay in its theatrical release pertaining Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown.
