Prime Video India has just released the first teaser for its highly anticipated upcoming show ‘Dahaad’. The Sonakshi Sinha starrer premieres on Prime Video worldwide on 12th May, 2023.
The ‘Dahaad’ teaser is one-minute long, and sharp as a razor. It gives ample hint of the story and plot of the series. A young girl goes missing in small town Rajasthan. The hunt for the missing girl leads to the discovery of 27 dead bodies – all of them girls. But the surprising thing is that there have been no missing complaints filed for those 27 dead women, and no witnesses to the crimes whatsoever.
The case is baffling and leads nowhere, until one relentless police officer decides to take matters into her capable hands. As she digs deeper into the case of the missing and dead women, the stakes become increasingly perilous for her. The police officer is obviously played by Sonakshi Sinha.
The actress is making her web series debut with ‘Dahaad’. The stellar cast giving company to Sonakshi Sinha in ‘Dahaad’ includes Gulshan Devaiah, Sohum Shah and Vijay Varma. We get our first fleeting glimpse of Vijay Varma’s character in the series in the Dahaad teaser. It appears that he is the primary antagonist in the series. But we’ll know more when the Dahaad trailer drops on 3rd May, 2023.
Gulshan Devaiah plays Sonakshi Sinha’s colleague in Dahaad. We still don’t know anything about Sohum Shah’s character in the series. Yogi Singha, Sanghmitra Hitaishi, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee, Nirmal Chiraniyan, Vijay Kumar Dogra, Abhishek Bhalerao, and Waris Ahmed Zaidi form the rest of the cast.
‘Dahaad’ is created by the formidable duo of Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, and directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. It is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment along with Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby Films.
Interestingly, ‘Dahaad’ is the first ever Indian web series to premiere at Berlin International film festival, in February 2023.
