Sonam Kapoor’s suspense thriller film ‘Blind’ has been ready and waiting for release for some time. The film is now gearing up for release. However, the makers of ‘Blind’ have decided to skip a theatrical release for the movie and premiere it directly on OTT. We now have confirmed information on the ‘Blind’ OTT release date and platform. The film will premiere on Jio Cinema on 7th July, and will stream free to watch on the Jio Cinema app.
‘Blind’ is a suspense thriller and a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name. The film centres on a blind police officer who must hunt down a serial killer on the loose. Sonam Kapoor stars in the primary role of the blind police officer. The film also stars Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak and Lillete Dubey in key roles.
The entire film has been shot in Glasgow, England, in the middle of the lockdown. ‘Blind’ is directed by Shome Makhija, and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, Avishek Ghosh, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim, Sachin Nahar, Pinkesh Nahar and Manish W.
Interestingly, the Korean original film ‘Blind’ has already been remade in India, in the form of the Tamil film ‘Netrikann’, headlined by Nayanthara. Netrikann had also gone for a direct to digital release on Disney+ Hotstar, back in 2021.
