Song Exploder : The Hit Musical Podcast All Set to Debut as a Docuseries!

Netflix in the recent times has gone into a mode of experimenting with their content. At one side they are releasing mainstream shows but on the other side they are experimenting with their audience by releasing docu-series like My Octopus Teacher or Chef to name a few. And to be honest they are getting back the results as these shows get their audience and this has made Netflix to keep going. Now they are bringing the hit musical podcast – Song Exploder as a Netflix original Docuseries.

The podcast was hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway who created it in 2014 and served as the host till 2018. Some of the past guests which have arrived on his show are Mettalica, Brittany Howard, MGMT, Iggy Pop, Weezer, The Killers etc.
Now he is back again as the host for the show and this time will work for Netflix.

Song Exploder will be maintaining the essence of the podcast where musicians used to have a chat with the host and tell the stories around their famous songs. The series will do the same as it will follow the musicians stories and which will involve as to how to pursue their music, how they connect, what was the motivation behind the song etc. The intent of the show will be to give the viewers a breakdown of how the songs are made. The insight of the musicians and how they pursued it.

In the official trailer released by Netflix we can see that the guests of this season are Lin- Manuel Miranda who will tell about ‘Wait For It’ from Hamilton, Alicia Keys for ‘3 Hour Drive’. R.E.M and Ty Dolla $ign will also feature in the season.

Hirway expressed his joy on social media that a podcast which is started in his bedroom has been taken up by a platform like Netflix and he is very excited about it.

The show will be premiering on Netflix on October 2nd 2020.
