Fans of Korean star Song Joong Ki are in for a treat soon. For Netflix is bringing a new film starring the dishy actor on its platform. The streaming giant is gearing up for the release of new Korean film ‘My Name Is Loh Kiwan’, which will hit Netflix worldwide on 1st March, 2024.
For those who don’t know, Song Joong Ki is the star of the popular Korean series ‘Descendants of the Sun’, which arguably first kicked off the Halyu wave globally. Subsequent hit shows with Song Joong Ki as lead include Arthdal Chronicles, Vincenzo, and Reborn Rich.
Korean film ‘My Name Is Loh Kiwan’ is adapted from the Cho Hae-jin novel, ‘I Met Loh Kiwan’. The movie follows Loh Kiwan (Song Joong Ki), a North Korean defector, who arrives in Belgium, hoping to find refuge in the country and start life anew. He finds himself getting overwhelmed in the foreign country where he can’t even speak the local language.
Each day becomes a struggle to survive for Loh Kiwan. His life transforms when he encounters professional shooter Marie (Choi Sung Eun), a dejected woman who has lost all hope after the death of her mother. The two derive strength from each other, and forge a way ahead.
My Name Is Loh Kiwan is written and directed by Kim Hee-jin. The film premieres on Netflix on 1st March, 2024.
