Paramount Pictures has dropped the final trailer of its upcoming project, Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The second collaboration between the studio and SEGA looks way bigger than the previous instalment. Also, Paramount confirmed the arrival of a third film and a spin-off project in future last month. Considering all the above-mentioned things, let’s check out how Sonic 2 may turn out for the viewers.
The opening moments of the final trailer showed the duo of Sonic and Tails escaping from an avalanche and crashing a wedding. The former’s best friend, Tom (James Marsden), and his wife, Maddie (Tika Sumpter), decide to go on a vacation. On the other hand, Sonic decides to stay back in Green Hills and make his impact as a hero.
But the return of Dr Robotnik (Jim Carrey) changes everything in Sonic’s life. However, he befriends a red echidna this time, Knuckles (Idris Elba). The villainous team does whatever it can to take down the blue-coloured hedgehog for good. On the flip side, Sonic makes sure that the green emerald doesn’t fall into the hands of Robotnik and Knuckles. Viewers may even witness Sonic dealing with the consequences of his troublemaking and overconfident persona in the forthcoming live-action movie.
Jeff Fowler serves as the helmer of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with Pat Casey and Josh Miller as the film’s writers. It will come out in theatres on April 8. Stay tuned for more updates.
