Globally renowned movies database entertainment portal IMDb houses a list/widget of the most anticipated new Indian movies and shows (both theatrical and OTT) that ascertains the real-time popularity of that title. This is determined by the number of pageviews these titles are generating on IMDb. Each title is then ranked by IMDb as per the aggregate number of pageviews.
The topmost spot on the IMDb list has been bagged by Atlee’s action thriller movie ‘Jawan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The film’s story ostensibly revolves around a wronged man, a soldier who makes it his mission to exact revenge from those responsible for his situation. The movie also features Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, and Nayanthara in important roles.
On the second spot of the IMDb list is Hansal Mehta’s SonyLIV crime drama series ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’. The show focuses on the much-publicized multi-state 2003 stamp paper scam which was masterminded by Abdul Kareem Telgi.
And the third most anticipated Indian title on the IMDb list is the comedy drama movie ‘Dream Girl 2’, which is a follow-up to the 2019 movie ‘Dream Girl’. Ayushmaan Khurrana reprises his role as a small-town boy who disguises himself as a girl named Pooja, leading to an amusing turn of events. The movie also features Ananya Pandey, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Bannerjee amongst others.
Besides theatrical releases and SonyLIV’s ‘Scam 2003’ on the top, two Indian OTT titles from Disney+ Hotstar have also made it to the IMDb most anticipated list. The first one is Neeraj Pandey’s thriller web series ‘The Freelancer’ which is about a daredevil rescue mission to get back a young girl from war-torn Syria. And the second title is the crime thriller series ‘Aakhri Sach’ starring Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role.
