SonyLIV Expands OTT Services In African & Caribbean Regions

The immensely popular Indian OTT platform SonyLIV was launched in the country back in the year 2013. Later, the streaming service commenced operations in other countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and other European nations.

And now, the SonyLIV streaming service is all set to become functional in some parts of the African and Caribbean markets. And in doing that, the OTT giant will further expand its presence in the global streaming markets by way of capitalizing on the increased digital consumption trends globally. Now, the OTT viewers from South Africa, Mauritius, Jamaica, Guyana, and Trinidad & Tobago, especially the Indian community that resides in the aforementioned regions, too will be able to enjoy content from SonyLIV.

Besides housing a host of licensed Indian and foreign language film titles, the SonyLIV OTT platform has also been churning out some well-made and widely acclaimed original shows and movies. The list includes Hansal Mehta’s recently released ‘Scam 2003’, ‘Rocket Boys’, slice-of-life comedy drama ‘Gullak’, Sudhir Mishra’s Fauda Indian adaptation ‘Tanaav’, and more recently Vishal Bhardwaj’s mystery whodunnit ‘Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley’, amongst others.

With the above stated SonyLIV originals now available for the OTT audiences in the African and Caribbean markets, the streaming service is steadily expanding its presence in the still untapped foreign markets, which have huge potential as far as consuming Indian OTT content is concerned. The decision will hopefully help SonyLIV not only retain but also increase its overall subscriber base globally. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest film industry and OTT updates.
