Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) is getting aggressive in the cluttered streaming space in India. In a strategic move, the company has appointed Danish Khan as the Business Head at SonyLIV. In his new role as the Business Head for Sony LIV and Studio NEXT, Danish Khan will concentrate solely on digital content for SonyLIV, the company’s flagship streaming platform.
The strategic change will help SonyLIV to to align with its vision for the future, and enhance focus on priorities and ensure success in the rapidly evolving M&E industry.
In another strategic move at Sony Pictures Networks India, the company has appointed Neeraj Vyas as Business Head for SET, SAB, PAL, and Hindi Movies. Vyas will oversee SPNI’s Hindi language entertainment for TV and the big screen.
Danish Khan is a veteran at Sony Pictures Networks India. He has worked with SPNI for a total of eighteen years, and is currently the Business Head for Channel SET since seven years. He has also spearheaded Studio NEXT and SonyLIV since 2019, taking the OTT platform from strength to strength. Under his guidance, SonyLIV has successfully launched as a new, revamped streaming platform. Danish Khan is credited with the slew of successful web series and OTT movies at SonyLIV since 2020.
Now that Danish Khan will focus solely on the streaming business of Sony Pictures Networks India, we can expect even more aggressive progress at SonyLIV. He will take over in his new position from 1st June, 2023. Danish Khan will report to the MD & CEO of SPNI.
