Today is World Hashtag Day, and to mark the occasion, Twitter India has declared the list of the most tweeted Hashtags in India in the first half of 2021 until now. Interestingly, the list of most tweeted hashtags is wholly dominated by South Indian cinema—six of the top ten hashtags are to do with South Indian films.
The honour of being the most tweeted hashtag of the year up till now goes to Tamil actor Ajith Kumar’s most-awaited film, ‘Valimai‘. It is quite understandable, given the hype and mania surrounding the film, and also how desperately fans of the film have been waiting for updates of the film on Twitter.
The second-most tweeted hashtag of the year belongs to Vijay’s hit film, Master. In a Covid-19 restricted entertainment industry in the beginning of the year, it was Master that kept fans’ spirits up. No wonder Master is second on the list of the most tweeted hashtags in India in 2021.
Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata finds its place on the most tweeted hashtags in India at third place. Of the remaining seven places in the top ten hashtags, three more are from the south film industries. They are Ajith Kumar, Thalapathy 65 and Vakeel Saab. That makes it six hashtags of the top ten in India in 2021. Ajith Kumar fans will be glad to know that the actor is the only individual personality to figure on the top ten hashtags India list.
