Vadivelu, who hasn’t taken up an project for the last 3 years, had previously announced his theatrical comeback in Kamal Haasan’s much awaited movie, “Thalaivan Irukkiraan”. This movie was to be the sequel to Haasan’s 1992 hit, “Thevar Magan”. But the film got postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Because of this, Vadivelu has decided to forge on into the digital stream. Suraj gave him a movie script and the “Chandramukhi” actor was quite impressed by it. Vadivelu himself had suggested Suraj to adapt the screen play for a web-series as it is the on-going trend at the moment and he agreed.
There were speculations last week that both Vadivelu and Suraj were working on the sequel to their 2006 hit, “Thalai Nagaram” with Sundar C in the main role. However now both of them have decided to work on the web-series, due to the Covid-19 situation, and the duo has already started with pre-production.
Vadivelu has initiated talks with OTT giants Netflix, Amazon and Hotstar. We will know more in a few days after official confirmation has been released by the production house.
