South Korean Sensation Park Seo-joon Heads To MCU, To Join Captain Marvel 2?

Captain Marvel 2, one of the much anticipated movies coming up from Marvel is constantly on the news since its inception. From adding cast to introducing new characters Captain Marvel 2 has been constantly updating fans about its development. Recently, Captain Marvel 2 officially got its name too, now the movie will be released as “The Marvels”. Besides all the interesting update, brand new news has also come up and has not only left the Marvel fans excited but also Korean culture fans.

Reports are abuzz that South Korean superstar Park Seo-joon has reportedly been cast for the upcoming Marvel movie “Captain Marvel 2”. Par Seo-joon who has been entertaining fans since a long time now is one of South Korea’s biggest celebrity and also one of the most sought after actor. Reports are in that the actor will be leaving for the States in the later half of the year after he completes filming his upcoming Korean movie “Concrete Utopia”.

Earlier, this year it was revealed that this year would be a jam packed year for Park Seo-joon in terms of projects but there was no mention of anything international. Apparently, it was very recently that Park Seo-joon got the offer and news say that discussions have already been done regarding his appearance. Though there has been nothing coming in from Disney or Marvel in any form, his agency on the other hand replied with “No Comments” regarding this news.

Normally when it comes to a Marvel project, everything is kept very hush hush, because everyone knows and has seen the hype Marvel movies have got in the past and are continuously receiving the same, in fact one can say it even more now. So, the agency coming up with such a comment only makes people speculate it even more.

Given his status in the Korean industry and also in Asian Film scene, Park Seo-joon is on a whole different level. He has already attained superstardom with various of his dramas like “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?”, “Fight For My Way”, “Hwarang” and the most recent and critically acclaimed “Itaewon Class”, along with movies like the hit “Midnight Runers”, “The Divine Fury”, “Chronicles of Evil”. Seeing this it would be interesting to know what role Marvel offers him. Park Seo-joon now becomes the second South Korean artist to join the MCU, earlier it was revealed Korean actor Ma Dong-seok as the cast for MCU’s The Eternals.

Besides this, “The Marvels” already has its major bunch of superheroes with Brie Larson coming in as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel. Additionally Zawe Ashton has also been cast in an undisclosed role. The movie will be directed by Nia DaCosta, with a screenplay written by Megan McDonnell. The principal photography was expected to begin by late May, this year. The movie is already scheduled for a 2022 release.
