Adam Sandler is all set to star in yet another Netflix film based on the 2017 sci-fi novel ‘The Spaceman of Bohemia’ by Jaroslav Kalfar. The film that is yet to be titled will be directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl) and the screenplay will be given by Colby Day.
This latest Netflix film is about an astronaut, Jakub Procházka, played by Sandler, who is sent on a lonely space mission to explore and collect mysterious “intergalactic dust” near Venus called Chopra. While he is in Space his life on earth is a mess. Soon Jakub discovers that he is accompanied by a “creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.” And its this creature that can help him put his falling life back together.
Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan and Michael Parets for Free Association will produce the film alongside Tim Headington, Lia Buman and Max Silva for Tango Entertainment. Ben Ormand, Renck and Barry Bernardi serve as executive producers.
While Sandler’s Happy Madison Production has a deal with Netflix which got extended for four more film in January, this ‘The Spaceman of Bohemia’ adaptation is not a part of it. Sandler’s recent Netflix release was ‘Hubie Halloween’ and his next work with the streaming platform is the sports drama ‘Hustle’.
‘Murder Mystery‘, ‘The Ridiculous 6’, ‘Uncut Gems’, ‘The Do-Over’, ‘Sandy Wexler’ are some of the other works of Sandler on Netflix.
Johan Renck, who will helm the Netflix film shot to fame and even won Emmy Award for his miniseries ‘Chernobyl’. He made his feature film directorial début with ‘Downloading Nancy’ in 2008 and has been part of ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Vikings’, ‘Bloodline’ and more.
Further details about the production and release dates for the untitled space film starring Adam Sandler are yet to be revealed by Netflix.
