Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Early Reactions Are Out

The first reactions for Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are out, with journalists and critics hailing the sequel as “one step above masterpiece” and “another milestone for animation”.

The highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) takes place a year after the events of the first film. While listening to “Sunflower” by Post Malone on his bed, Miles Morales sees Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman) entering his bedroom through a multiversal portal. She approaches him to join the mission of saving Spider-People from every existing universe from The Spot. He accompanies her and meets numerous Spider-People along the way. He even encounters Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099), who serves as the leader of their group, Spider-Society. However, things start to fall apart after Miles finds himself at odds with Miguel.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse held its world premiere at Regency Village Theater, located in LA, California, on May 30. A handful of film critics and journalists attended the premiere, along with the film’s cast, consisting of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, and more. Directors Kemp Powers, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Justin K. Thompson kicked off the premiere.
