Amidst MCU’s rumored plans for bringing multiple Spider-Man together, Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is bringing in another nostalgic character for the second installment of the film, which is yet to receive a name.
Now, it looks like this multiverse tale of Spider-Man will include the voice of Spider-Man from the 90s’ popular animated series. Christopher Daniel Barnes who has already lent his voice for the role earlier, is reportedly in talks to bring his Peter Parker to life for the upcoming sequel.
As per the reports, his role in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel will not be much, but the actor will voice the version of his character, with the film even replicating the style of the nostalgic show.
We’ve also learnt that more characters from other Spider-Man universes are set to join and talks for many of these are still ongoing. From all these reports, one thing is evident that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse sequel will feature a lot from the history of Spider-Man adaptation.
As we know, the first installment of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, revolves around the Miles Morales character in Earth-1610. He is surrounded by different versions of Spider-Man, all coming into his world from different universes to save New York City from the super-villain, Kingpin.
Now, whether adding new yet old nostalgic characters to the roster of several Spider-Man will create more buzz around the fans or not, only time will tell! But till then fans can only hope that the new sequel stays at par with the first installment of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
