Finally, the MCU and Sony lords have answered the prayers of millions of fans out there who were desperately waiting, praying, and manifesting for the release of a trailer of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. Finally, we have something, which is way better than nothing at this point. After thousands of speculations and theories, hundreds of photos from the sets making rounds on the “web”, and one major trailer leak later, we officially have the trailer. It’s not the official trailer, it’s just a teaser trailer, which means we will be getting a mega-sized bomb thrown at us later on for sure.
Now, coming to the teaser trailer released by Sony today, we come across a lot of things, and by lot, we literally mean “A LOT”. Now to break it down, the movie starts from where “Spiderman: Far From Home” ended. Thanks to Mysterio now, Peter Parker’s secret of being Spider-Man is now out in the public. He is being hammered down by everyone for the death of Mysterio and above all, it is hurting his dear ones, especially MJ, Ned, and Aunt May. Since he has had enough with everything, he wants help, he wants to reverse everything, and for that there’s only one person he can go to and that is our beloved MCU wizard, Dr. Stephen Strange.
As Peter Parker requests him to reverse back the time, and he promises to do so, our friendly neighborhood superhero starts having second thoughts as he believes the spell cast by Dr. Strange will erase memories from MJ and Ned too. But, it looks like the spell didn’t really work that well with all of Peter Parker’s talks involved and this leads to the beginning of a massive unraveling of Spider-verse, or should we say the “Multiverse” since Dr. Strange is involved. Also as villains like Doc Ock, Electro, Green Goblin make their appearances, this is pretty much confirmed.
Now, if you are thinking, where they were, then let us tell you. We can see Electro’s lightning as yellow in a certain section of the trailer, followed by Green Goblin’s pumpkin bombs being thrown and an explosion that reveals Doc Ock. Now Electro was the villain for the “Amazing Spider-Man” trilogy and the Peter Parker he knows is played by Andrew Garfield. Both Doc Ock and Green Goblin come from the first-ever “Spider-Man” trilogy and the Peter Parker they know is played by Tobey Maguire. The introduction of these three super-villain confirms that “Sinister Six” is in action. But besides that we have also seen glimpses of Sand-Man and Lizard in the trailer. So, we already have 5 super-villains and the introduction of one more will make this a Sinister Six to look out for. Not to mention, that there will be changes made from the original Sinister Six that appeared in the comics.
Also, if the villains from all these “Spider-Man” trilogies have been conjured up, we can be sure that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire might make their comebacks as Spider-Man once again. But of course, Marvel being Marvel, we aren’t getting to know that anytime soon. Also, not to mention it’s just a “teaser” trailer. Hence, maybe the next or the final trailer will have a glimpse of all the Spider-Men suited up and in all of their Spidey Glory.
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is scheduled to release on the 17th of December in theatres. So, till then, we definitely have enough time. For further updates on Spider-Man: No Way Home, keep an eye out for Binged.com
