‘Squid Game’ Season-2 Rounds Out Cast. Begins Filming Soon

When the Korean survival drama series ‘Squid Game’ came out on Netflix in September 2021, the show became an instant superhit amongst OTT viewers across the globe. Since then, ‘Squid Game’ has won several top awards like the Primetime Emmy and the Golden Globes besides breaking viewership records. It has got a highly impressive critics’ score of 95% on reviews aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes and an IMDb user rating of 8/10. So, considering its cult following, naturally, the curiosity quotient around the show’s second season is quite high.

Earlier, the series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk had revealed that the popular characters of Gi-hun and the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun) will be coming back for the show’s second season. Moreover, another character of that of police detective Jun-ho (played by Wi Ha-jun) is also expected to return for ‘Squid Game’ Season-2.

And now, as per the latest update on ‘Squid Game Season-2’, the makers have cast eight new actors. They are Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim0, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an.

Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk will most likely commence filming for ‘Squid Game S2’ some time later this year itself. So, we can assume that the show will premiere on Netflix in the year 2024, if things go smoothly.

The first season of ‘Squid Game’ follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival game called ‘Squid Game’.
