Squid Game 2 Sets Up A Benchmark In Indian OTT

Squid Game Season 2 has taken the OTT industry by storm in terms of viewership. While the majority of its popularity came from the USA, India played a significant role in its success.

Squid Game Season 2 has now become the most-watched foreign language series in India. But how impressive are the numbers?

To refresh your memory, the show was released on December 26. In just five days, it amassed a massive viewership of 19.6 million, showcasing its global popularity.

What about the competition?

The Boys Season 4 on Prime Video came in second, but the gap was significant. By the end of 2024, it recorded 10.4 million views.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 secured the third spot with 8.8 million views, while Fallout on Prime Video followed in fourth with 7.7 million views.

Now, compared to Indian series, Squid Game 2 may have lower numbers overall, but it came dangerously close to being a threat. The only saving grace for Indian shows was the limited five-day window Squid Game 2 had.
