Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s Bollywood debut has been in the news for a long time now. However, Mahesh never really seemed interested in foraying into Hindi cinema. On more occasions than one, Mahesh affirmed that he is content with Telugu films for the time being. Cut to now, Mahesh is set to take the big plunge as he is set to venture into the coveted ‘pan-India’ market with SSMB29, which will be helmed by SS Rajamouli. Mahesh has confirmed that SSMB29 will be released in all major Indian languages.
“I was born into the South industry, and I’m extremely happy and successful here. And I would change nothing about it. I think all films—whether they are made in the North or South—are made with their own sensibilities, keeping in mind the many cultures that we are a part of. I think there is no real divide. I have always wanted to do the right film at the right time, if it was a Hindi film. And I think the time is now… my next is with SS Rajamouli sir and that will be in all languages,” Mahesh was quoted saying in his latest interaction with Forbes India. He confirms that the film will be mounted on a ‘pan-India canvas’
Rajamouli’s immediate next outing, RRR is up for release on the 7th of January 2022. The stakes are high on this project and it is likely to set the box office on fire once it hits the silver screens. Needless to say, the onus is on Rajamouli to better his work for RRR with his next project SSMB29, which has Mahesh Babu in the central role. Now, Rajamouli has been handed with an additional responsibility i.e, to launch Mahesh into the coveted ‘pan-India market’. Launching a regional superstar into the pan-India market is no easy task, given the sky high expectations that will be associated with the project. That said, Rajamouli is a master of the trade. He made Prabhas a pan-India superstar, and now, Jr NTR and Ram Charan are hoping they too will attain pan-India superstardom with RRR. Next in line is Mahesh Babu.
