The distinctiveness in the contribution of the Indian industry to the OTT platforms is becoming a noteworthy and appreciable feat. A blend of fiction and reality is often showcased from the Indian side which largely deals with social issues and human emotions. Also, the industry has talked about science and technology in recent times, receiving good responses.
However, the functioning of finance and economic aspects have not been much discussed through this media despite introducing recent efforts of financial thrillers. This kind of knowledge and assurance is becoming a necessary factor in today’s context. What can the recent association do to satisfy such a necessity?
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which is also known as the ‘Banker’s Bank’ had invited proposals from production houses, TV channels, and OTT platforms to create a comprehensive and engaging web series to provide an in-depth exploration of the RBI functions and operations over its 90-year journey.
Following the tender for a decent amount as well as a neck and neck competition with Viacom 18, Star India Private Limited, which is one of the largest conglomerates, will be presenting the effort to create a web series of five episodes of approximately 25-30 minutes each, which can be aired on national TV channels and/or OTT platforms, commemorating ‘90 years journey of the RBI’.
Subsequently, the five-episode series will serve as a valuable resource for enhancing public understanding of the central bank’s vital role in the economy, fostering greater engagement, and building trust and confidence in its operations and policies respectively.
Moreover, the exposure to financial literacy for the citizens is expected to become rampant with this effort. Again, this project will be an aid for making complex financial concepts accessible and interesting to a wider audience.
On the contrary, the effort seems to have a documentary-style narrative that can include expert interviews and less fictional elements. It is hence expected to have compelling storytelling as well as high-quality creative labour.
Stay tuned in Binged for more updates regarding the RBI’s new web series.
