Star Trek Universe Is Expanding With Toby Haynes’ New Project

The winter season brings about franchise expansions, with more Universes announcing new films and projects. Star Wars recently made promises regarding their upcoming projects, and now Star Trek joins the gang.

Sheldon Cooper must be jumping for joy as Star Trek announces its newest film. As the original series approaches its dusk period, Paramount is determined to extend the franchise even further. Toby Haynes is given the responsibility to direct the film, while Seth Grahame-Smith will be working on the script.

The storyline of the film is currently kept under wraps, but rumors suggest it will focus on something akin to an origin story. The film is set to take place decades before the 2009 film that rebooted the franchise.

In addition to these developments, the makers are still focused on finishing the final installment of the main series, Star Trek 4, but no specific release window has been announced.

Unlike Star Wars or other universes, Star Trek took a break; their last film, Star Trek Beyond, was released in 2016. They are also not flooding the universe with loosely connected shows, unlike Marvel, Star Wars, or DC.

Whatever series Paramount is producing is accepted by fans with open arms and strong reviews, similar to the likes of Picard and Strange New World.

Toby Haynes won’t be having a tough time adjusting to a space universe, having prior experience working on the world of the Star Wars Andor series.

The time ahead for Star Trek fans is indeed exciting as their world is rejuvenating with a short wave of new content. Though no release window or possible dates are yet announced, stay tuned to Binged for further updates on your favorite films or series.
