A new Star Wars series is coming up called “The Acolyte”! It takes us back to a time called the High Republic era, way before the events of the main Star Wars movies. It’s a world filled with secrets and dark powers, set about 100 years before “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.” You can consider it a sort of prequel to the usual Star Wars stuff.
The story follows a former Padawan (that’s like a student Jedi) who teams up with her Jedi Master to solve some mysterious crimes. But as they dig deeper, they discover some seriously scary stuff lurking in the shadows.
Starring Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae, the cast includes Lee Jung-jae playing the wise Jedi master Sol to Manny Jacinto as the sneaky former smuggler Qimir.
The series will be getting released on June 4, 2024.
But what is the reception so far? Bad.
It got more than 51 million views in the first 24 hours of its release which is the highest for any Star Wars series. We are quoting this number from various sources like YouTube, X, Facebook and more.
Even after all that, the dislikes on the trailer are more than the likes. Yes. But, why this hate?
Disney+ is merely milking the Star Wars universe with such a series. They lack that spark which used to dominate in the golden age of Star Wars. So, this was kinda inevitable…
